After 2 days walking in the country side we reached the Inle Lake. A place that we will never forget.
We spent here 3 amazing days, that we shared with two new friends : Ruud and Paula. What a great time!!
The fist day we had the chance to follow a Buddhist celebration. Once per year, for two weeks, a golden statue of Buddha is transported from one temple to the other on the lake, on a golden boat woth shape of a bird.
The cerimony is particularly impressive because the golden boat is followed by other 30 boats, with around 50 sailors on each boat.
While waiting for the ceremony to start, we also had a offered lunch from the temple!
On the way back on the lake, on our beautiful boat, we could observ the Fishermans and the farmers cultivating the floating gardens.
The day after we rented some bikes, the perfect way to explore the villages aside. We end up in a really small village, where we played for ours with 20 kids. At the end, the people were so nice that they wanted to offer us the luch! Myanmar people are so amazing!
In the evening, our last evening all together, we climbed up a mountain, reached a monastery and enjoyed the most wonderful sunset with view on the lake.
Our last day at the lake, we rented again a boat, and had the chance to be invited by our driver at his family village. We had an awesome lunch with fish and tomatoes (the goods of the season). After this kings lunch we enjoyed a beautiful tour with canoes in the floating gardens. So peaceful to sail in the silencr and pick tomatoes.
The people of Inle Lake, with their generosity and happiness will always be in our hearts.
