Chiang Dao is a little town north from Chiang Mai, closed between mountains and a river. Most of the tourists get there because of its caves, we went there to work at the Roundhouses. A project created by Maggi, a English woman who dreamed about creating a place where ahe could get old, a guesthouse made out of organic materials on a land she bought some years ago. The place is just lovely.
We spent there one week, helping building the round houses with mud, gardening and working on the organic swimming pool.
We learned a lot and worked with two great people : Bam and Assa, two thai workers who teached us a lot and who gave us a lot of happiness. You don't need to speak the same language to lough together! :)
It was a week of work, but we also just enjoyed the fact to be for quite long time in the same place. We really appreciate the lost side of the place where we lived like ermites, without internet, with a lot of animals and insects and cooking every evening on the fire. We hope to come back one day, to see how everything will be at the end, when Maggi will realize her wonderful dream.
